Bristol Fourth of July Photography Contest

The Bristol Fourth of July Committee presents its Annual Photography Contest. Please read the entry details and contest rules below. Entry forms can be downloaded from the right column.

Entry Details:

  • The contest is open to all Bristol residents with the exception of 4th of July Committee members and professional photographers.
  • Each entry must be an unmounted 8" x 10" print
  • Each entry must have your name, address, telephone number, title and category on the back.
  • Each entry must have a completed entry label (found below) affixed to the front lower edge of photo.
  • Photographs may be black & white, sepia or color.
  • Each contestant may enter a maximum of 2 categories with up to 3 photographs submitted per category.
  • All photographs need not relate to the 4th of July.
  • Each entry must be an unmounted 8" x 10" print.
  • All entries become the property of the 4th of July Committee and may be reproduced by the committee for use during the 4th of July Celebration.
  • All mailed entries must be postmarked no later than Wednesday, June 1, 2012 and mailed to:

  • Entries may also be dropped off before noon on Friday, June 3, 2012 at Photo World (433 Hope St.) or Rogers Free Library.
  • Failure to comply with the above 11 items will result in disqualification.
  • The contest will be judged by professional photographers.
  • Ribbons will be awarded for First, Second and Third place in each category. One Best of Show ribbon will also be awarded.
  • The winning photographs will be displayed at Paper, Packaging and Panache (418 Hope St.) and Rogers Free Library from June 14, 2012 through July 31, 2012.

NEWS/UPDATES

PARKING/STREET CLOSINGS

Parking is basically anywhere you can find it. Large lots are open to the public at the corner of Hope and Gooding. Avoid Mt. Hope High School, as the parade forms there are participants will be parking there. If you are parking on residential streets, please be sure to avoid blocking driveways. Police will ticket.


Various surrounding streets will be closed off beginning at 8:00 a.m., including Poppasquash Road. Chestnut Street, Naomi Street and Sherry Avenue will be close to traffic at 7:00 a.m.. A parking ban along the parade route goes into effect the night before the parade.
